Paraspito Residency.

(EN)
Paraspito Residency hosts international artists to collectively create, (re)think, (un)learnm exchange and research on commonal practices and techniques, local rituals, natural environments and their organisms, plants, animals and more-than-humans. Architectural term originally denoting the traditional Pelion “side house”, a living space that is both inside and outside, Paraspito indicates a direction, a perspective, a point of view that allows us to examine the familiar (οικείο) from a critical distance, while not losing our intrinsic connection to it.

SOFT POWERS OF WATER - SUMMER 2025

  • Together with Louisa Vergozisi and Edwin De Klein, members of the Dutch collective Flujas, we reflected on the soft powers of water, slowness and traditional craftmanship. Hacking at the remoted chapels, springs and streams of Pelion, experimenting with traditional stone techniques, discovering how to walk with a Dutch shoe on a kalderimi and how to fall in love with a crab, conversing with our natural surroundings. But most of all self-reflecting on our own practices and positioning ourselves towards art and community.
